Each member of the hip-hop trio has selected a film for the series
Following the Irish premiere of their self-titled feature film at Galway Film Fleadh this week, KNEECAP have put together a film series, 'KNEECAP Selects', coming to Dublin's Light House Cinema and Galway's Pálás Cinema.
The series kicks off at the end of July, and will run up until the official release date of KNEECAP in Irish cinemas on August 8.
Based on the origin story of the groundbreaking Irish-language rap trio, KNEECAP stars group members Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí as themselves – alongside Academy Award-nominated actor Michael Fassbender, Simone Kirby, Jessica Reynolds, Fionnuala Flaherty and Josie Walker.
The film has already garnered international acclaim at Sundance Film Festival, where it won the prestigious NEXT Audience Award.
For 'KNEECAP Selects', each member has picked "either a favourite film or one in which they feel inspired their own story."

Móglaí Bap selected the 2004 Irish comedy Man About Dog, describing it as a "movie about West Belfast, in the days before taxi men had licenses, everyone was skint but always knew how to make a few quid (or lose it).”
DJ Próvaí, meanwhile, chose 2016's The Greasy Strangler: “A strange and weird film, pure bullshit, no one should watch it. It’ll put ye off hotdogs for life. Bain sult as!”
Steve McQueen's Hunger (2008), starring Michael Fassbender as Bobby Sands, also features in the series – with Mo Chara stating it's an "absolute must watch."
