Having released 30 original albums, selling 40 million records, and performing at countless sold-out tours, the revere for The Dubliners is unquestionable. Their contributions to folk music are indisputable, and their revolution of Irish music commendable.
John Sheahan and his late bandmates Luke Kelly, Ronnie Drew, Barney McKenna and Ciarán Bourke played Irish music in an exciting and imaginative way, leaving a legacy that has been imprinted on Ireland forever.
Sheahan has been working to create a show that will bring the story of The Dubliners to the stage, in order to guarantee that every detail, every musical note, and every anecdote is correct and in place.
Five flawless musicians were selected after a two-year nationwide search, to replicate the musical talent and spirit of each original band member. The Dubliners Encore captures the essence of the band, incorporating 50 years worth of music, stories, and fun into one special night.

Directed and produced by award-winning industry creatives Phil Coulter, Ceoladh Sheahan, and Maurice Sweeney, John wanted The Dubliners Encore to serve as a heartfelt tribute to his bandmates.
At the launch of show, John said: “As the last Dubliner standing, I wanted to create a show full of integrity inviting the audience to experience the magic of a Dubliners’ concert. This show is a tribute to my bandmates, to the music we created together and all the craic we had along the way.”
John has said of Phil, who produced six of The Dubliners’ albums as well as wrote some of their biggest hits, ‘There is no-one more qualified to steer this one-of-a-kind Dubliners experience. Phil has been part of the Dubliners’ family for decades, and he brings his immense creativity, musicianship, passion, and experience to the role of Musical Director.’
