Jennifer Hudson has transformed into legendary singer Aretha Franklin in the new trailer for her highly-anticipated biopic Respect - set to premiere this December.
The trailer for the film officially debuted during the BET Awards on Sunday night, with Hudson’s impressive cover of 'Respect' soundtracking the clip.
The actress took part in the BET Awards on Sunday night as a performer, showing off her incredible vocal talent and musical prowess.
The video features Franklin interacting with various men in the music industry, asserting herself as a black women during a turbulent historical era.
Hudson also performs a number of well-known tracks in the trailer, bearing a striking resemblance to the star herself.
Directed by Liesl Tommy, the film also stars Marlon Wayans, Tituss Burgess, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Tate Donovan, Audra McDonald, Forest Whitaker, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Marc Maron.

Respect follows "the rise of Aretha Franklin's career from a child singing in her father's church's choir to her international superstardom".
Over the course of her esteemed career, Franklin won a total of 18 Grammys before dying of cancer in August, 2018 at the age of 76.
