On March 21, a special celebration of Joni Mitchell will be showing in Dublin, Galway and Cork.
Celebrating one of the world’s most revered artists, Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration is bringing an incredible array of musicians to cinemas across the world for a one-night-only celebration on March 21, in collaboration with global event cinema distributor Trafalgar Releasing and The Music Center. This announcement follows the success of the film, which screened in over 400 cinemas across North America earlier this month.
Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration will be screening at Dublin's Light House Cinema, Cork's The Gate Cinema and Galway's Pálás. Tickets are sale now at joni75.com or at participating cinema box offices.
Captured live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, this special event celebrated Joni Mitchell’s 75th birthday. The acts featured in the film performing Mitchell's classic songs include Brandi Carlile, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Kris Kristofferson, James Taylor, Rufus Wainwright, and many more.
Co-musical directors, providing the musical arrangements for the show, are percussionist Brian Blade, who recorded three studio albums and toured extensively with Mitchell, and pianist, composer, arranger producer Jon Cowherd.
In a statement, Rachel Moore, president and CEO of The Music Center said:

“What started as an opportunity to fete Joni Mitchell live during an extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime concert at The Music Center last November, has become an incredible opportunity to share the magnitude of her impact. Her ability to inspire and touch the lives of people of all ages and backgrounds from places around the globe, is truly breathtaking. We are extremely pleased with the North American success of the film released by our partners at Trafalgar Releasing and thrilled that so many more around the world will now be able to see it.”
