The upcoming actress starred in movies like 'I Used To Live Here' and 'Metal Heart'.
Every year Screen International selects the 'Stars of Tomorrow', a list of the most exciting upcoming British and Irish actors, filmmakers and other talents working in the film industry. Amongst this year's awarded newcomers is actress Jordanne Jones from Dublin.
In 2015 at age 14, Jordanne won the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award in the category 'Breakthrough - Irish' for her performance in the movie I Used To Live Here. After that, she starred in the romantic comedy Metal Heart, in which she played an artistic goth outsider, a role that hit close to home as she revealed in an interview for our Best of Dublin issue: "I was the outcast growing up, I found it hard to fit in sometimes."
Eventually, she overcame this obstacle, owning it and using it to voice her opinions. A quality encouraged by her mother, the politician Lynn Ruane: "My mam always wanted me to be loud and opinionated, and to fight for what I believe in."

Currently, Jordanne Jones is studying film studies and English literature at Trinity College while successfully pursuing her dream of being an actress. "Acting feels very therapeutic for me, because I get to step into someone's life and focus on playing them", she explains.
Jordanne Jones' upcoming projects include the short films Sister This and Moth as well as the TV mini-series Dead Still.
