“The ground-breaking collaboration will give fans a futuristic look into the metaverse, merging gaming, real time motion-capture, and live musical performance into an immersive interactive experience.”
Justin Bieber has announced his upcoming virtual show Justin Bieber – An Interactive Virtual Experience which will be released worldwide on November 18th.
The pop superstar will be teaming up with VR entertainment company Wave. Through the 45-minute performance, Bieber will be taking the virtual stage as an animated avatar bearing his own likeness. The singer will be performing some of his most recent hits including 'Peaches' and 'Hold On', as well as his newest single 'Ghost'.
“I am a big believer in Wave and love the platform as a new way for me to engage with my fans,” Bieber said. “I’m excited to be using this technology to bring people together and connect with fans from all over the world. I can’t wait for them to check out this interactive performance.”
The virtual entertainment company has previously worked with a number of other artists including The Weeknd, Dillion Francis, and John Legend. Previous events were made available only through a VR headset, but Bieber's show will mark Wave's first concert pivoting away from virtual reality technology and will be easily accessible through the internet.
“Justin Bieber is not only one of the world’s biggest artists, he is also one of the most forward-thinking," said Wave CEO Adam Arrigo. "This partnership allows for limitless, virtual opportunities for him and his fans.
"By combining Wave’s technology with Justin’s creativity, we’ve created a unique, interactive experience that complements his upcoming physical tour. Justin is paving the way for artists to incorporate a virtual concert ‘tour stop’ to reach new audiences who can’t attend in-person or want a different kind of live music experience.”
