Irish eyes are smiling as the complete list of Golden Globe nominees is finally revealed...
Belfast, directed and written by Kenneth Branagh, has received multiple nominations at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards in a strong showing for Irish film.
The film from the Northern Irish director achieved nominations for Best Picture (Drama), Director, Screenplay, Supporting Actress (Caitríona Balfe), Supporting Actor (Jamie Dornan and Ciarán Hinds) and Song (Van Morrison), tying with The Power of the Dog for the overall most nominations in film.
Its described in the pictures' synopsis as "a semi-autobiographical film which chronicles the life of a working-class family and their young son's childhood during the tumult of the late 1960s in the Northern Ireland capital."
Belfast will be up against heavy hitters such as Dune, The Power of the Dog, King Richard, and Coda for the Best Motion Picture in Drama award.
Branagh also faces stiff competition for the Best Director nod, with Steven Spielberg also nominated for West Side Story.

The Oscar-nominated Limerick actress Ruth Negga was also shortlisted today in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work on the Rebecca Hall movie, Passing.
Released on Netflix, Negga also hosted a special screening of the film in Dublin this October, briefly introducing the film and its themes.
Adapted from the celebrated 1929 novel of the same name by Nella Larsen, Passing, starring Tessa Thompson and Clare Kendry alongside Negga, is the story of Irene Redfield and Clare Bellew, two black women who can 'pass' as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the colour line during the height of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s New York.
