The film Kiss The Future focuses on U2 and their promise to perform a post-war concert in Sarajevo.
On Friday, February 23, the film Kiss The Future will debut in select AMC theatres in the U.S. There will also be special early screenings on Wednesday February 21. The documentary will become available to stream only on Paramount+ later this year.
The film follows the story of how an American Aid worker reached out to U2 to help raise awareness for the devastating conflict that was occurring in Sarajevo during the Boasnian War. The film focuses on how a community of musicians and artists made a global impact and inspired change for those impacted by the war.
At the time, U2 had promised to play a show to over 45 thousand local fans in Sarajevo post-war. This show is now revered as a joyous collective memory for the people of Sarajevo.
The film first premiered at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival and opened the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. Kiss The Future features celebrities such as Christiane Amanpour and Bill Clinton.
Directed by Nenad Cicin-Sain and produced by Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Sarah Anthony, Cicin-Sain teamed up with Bill Carter, known for his film Miss Sarajevo, to create Kiss The Future based off of his memoir Fools Rush In.

“Even in the darkest times, the people of Sarajevo were able to find purpose through playing music, making art, and helping others," said Cicin-Sain. "They did not just survive, they thrived."
Damon commented that Artists Equity, an independent, artist-led studio, “is proud to bring Nenad’s wonderful, life-affirming film to theatre audiences across the United States.”
The early screening of the film will take place at select AMC theatres and is entitled Kiss The Future: A Dolby Special Event. Affleck and Damon will introduce the event while Matt Carey hosts a pre-recorded, post-film discussion with Cicin-Sain, Vesna Andree Zaimovic, and Carter with U2 members The Edge and Adam Clayton.
In the recording, the group will discuss their personal experiences in Sarajevo as well as their experiences creating the documentary. Tickets for the event are on sale now at AMCTheatres.com or on the AMC Theatres mobile app.
