The new Lady Gaga single for Top Gun: Maverick will be released on May 3rd, ahead of the release of the Paramount Pictures film on May 27th.
Making her awaited return to the film soundtrack scene, Lady Gaga announced a new single yesterday, ‘Hold My Hand,’ written for the soon-to-be-released major motion picture Top Gun: Maverick.
The film by Paramount Pictures hits the screens nationwide on May 27th with scoring and production by Harold Faltermeyer and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
Written and produced by Gaga with BloodPop and Benjamin Rice at Interscope Records, ‘Hold My Hand’ will feature throughout the film and is available to stream on May 3rd. The release of ‘Hold My Hand’ celebrates Gaga’s return to writing and producing original music for film soundtracks, following the award-winning A Star Is Born (2018) soundtrack which skyrocketed the pop star into film history, winning Gaga an Academy Award, multiple Grammys, a Golden Globe Award and many more accolades.
Throughout this week, Gaga has teased lyrics from the track to her 84.6 million Twitter followers, sharing, “I see that you’re bleeding, you don’t need to show me again.”

“When I wrote this song for Top Gun: Maverick, I didn’t even realise the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in. I’ve been working on it for years, perfecting it, trying to make it ours,” Gaga wrote on Twitter yesterday, alongside the track’s cover art and praise for her fellow producers.
The new Top Gun film returns to Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) 30 years after his entrance into the Navy as a high-profile aviator, as he encounters the son of an old friend (Miles Teller) and embarks on a brave mission latent with confrontation, fear and ultimate sacrifice.
You can pre-save Lady Gaga’s newest single ‘Hold My Hand’ now and stream it on all platforms on May 3rd.
