The BBC programme will mark thirty years since its debut this October, with a secret line-up concert set to air later in the year.
BBC’s long-running live music programme, Later…With Jools Holland will celebrate three steady decades this October in West London for a special one-night show. The line-up for the evening, featuring guests from the show’s past as well as modern talent, will remain a secret until the night of and is sure to be a delight to all.
Hosted by former Squeeze member Jools Holland, the event invites over 3,000 fans to the Hammersmith Apollo to commemorate “different eras and musical worlds,” according to a press release. The landmark concert will air later this year on BBC for those who aren’t lucky enough to see it live in the flesh.
“It’s unbelievable that this year sees my show reach its thirtieth birthday,” shares Holland in a sentiment regarding the event. “It’s a testament to the great power of music that we are still going strong, and are now the longest running international music show on earth.”
Holland has spent the last thirty years devoted to uniting iconic and on-the-rise artists for live performances, interviews and conversations about the power of music.
In October of 1992, the first episode of the programme aired. Since then, countless musical figureheads have made their UK television debut on the show, including Amy Winehouse, Adele, Alicia Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Kanye West, Norah Jones, Taylor Swift, Metallica and many more.

The sixtieth season of Later…With Jools Holland began in May of this year, with five episodes featuring guest performers Wet Leg, Liam Gallagher, Confidence Man, Kasabian, Foals, Paolo Nutini and more. The next series is expected to premiere on October 1 with more exciting musical talent such as Hot Press’ cover stars, The 1975.

The concert will take place on October 5 at the Hammersmith Apollo, West London’s legendary music venue.
