The pair who have a long history working side by side have announced they will team up once again for a new film based on the bestselling book by David Grann, Killers of the Flower Moon.
Killers of The Flower Moon, which was listed by Time magazine as one of the top ten non-fiction books of 2017, tells the true story of the Osage murders following the discovery of oil on their land and the subsequent birth of the FBI, set against the backdrop of 1920s Oklahoma. It has now been confirmed that Martin Scorsese will direct the film with DiCaprio taking on the lead role. The film is due to go into production during the summer of 2019 with a script penned by Oscar Winning Screenwriter Eric Roth, whose other credits include the recent success A Star Is Born, The Insider and Forrest Gump.
This will be DiCaprio and Scorcese's sixth film together, since last pairing up on 2013's The Wolf Of Wall Street. The pair initially collaborated on a feature film on Gangs of New York (2002) and subsequently made The Aviator (2004), The Departed (2006) and Shutter Island (2010).
