The Taken actor stated: “I’m 72 – it has to stop at some stage”.
Liam Neeson has revealed that he’d like to retire from action films by the end of 2025. Known as an action icon since his part in 2008’s Taken, the Oscar nominee said that he will soon retire from the genre.
In the years since the Taken trilogy, Neeson has continued to perform his own fight scenes, even now in his 70s, alongside stunt collaborator Mark Vanselow.
Neeson stated: “I’m 72 – it has to stop at some stage. You can’t fool audiences. I don’t want Mark to be fighting my fight scenes for me.”
In terms of a specific date for his last action role, Neeson did not confirm one, but he said that it will probably be in 2025, “Maybe the end of next year. I think that’s it”.

The actor has performed in several action films since Taken was released, such as Unknown, The Grey, Run All Night, and The Commuter.
Neeson’s most recent action project, Absolution, is coming out in November, and is directed by Hans Petter Moland.
