The Coronas will lead the music charge on The Late Late Show this week.

The band, who remain one of the biggest live draws in Ireland, will perform their latest single ‘Give Me A Minute’ on the show. The Coronas' lead singer Danny O’Reilly (pictured) will also be interviewed by Late Late Show host, Ryan Tubridy, as the band launch into a series of major gigs, including an appearance in Irish Independent Park, Cork – supported by Sigrid and All Tvvins – on June 22.

The Late Late Show will also feature another musical heavyweight in Colm Wilkinson. Having started his career on the Dublin beat scene in the 1960s, Wilkinson went on to have a hugely successful career in musical theatre, starring in Jesus Christ Superstar and Les Miserables among other Broadway and West End shows. Having lived in Toronto for the past 30 years, Colm has now returned home. He will be recounting his experiences along the way – and will doubtless be inveigled into singing a song to mark the occasion!

There will likely be a warm welcome too for the Irish international footballer, Jonathan Walters, who recently announced his retirement from the game. Walters will talk about the loss of his mother at a young age, and the influence she had on his life.

Meanwhile, Hot Press cover star Roz Purcell is also among the guests. Now a successful author, as well as a ’social media influencer’, Roz will be accompanied on the show by her sister Rachel, who – a few years ago – was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia. Roz saw the diagnosis as a major turning point in her own life, giving her a new perspective on what is, and what isn’t, important.

How the voting will pan out remains to be seen, but the Late Late Show will also feature Prime Time’s David McCullagh, who will discuss the state of play in the European and local elections, as well as the Referendum on Divorce Law, based on exit polls, alongside Páidí Ó Lionaird.

Also appearing as a guest on The Late Late Show this week is Joe Grogan, the father of Shane Grogan, who was the victim of an unprovoked attack in Tuam in 2012, after a day at the Galway Races. Shane was hit on the head with a brick and suffered serious brain damage. A 19 year old from Dublin, Shane Byrne, was found guilty of the assault and jailed.

Shane spent five years in hospitals and other care facilities, before he was told that he could return home. However, he has been confined to a wheelchair and needs constant care and so has not been able to live at home full-time. Joe will bring everyone up to date on what is a tragic and harrowing story.
