Following rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, BAFTA Rising star nominee Jessie Buckley looks set to take the film and music world by storm as the star of the gritty, inspirational and heart-warming film Wild Rose.

The first music to be released from the Wild Rose OST is the track ‘Country Girl’ which is available today. The song was written by Primal Scream who released it as a single in 2006. Elsewhere on the album is a song called ‘Glasgow’ which was co-written by Oscar winning actor Mary Steenburgen. Jessie and the film’s writer Bafta winner Nicole Taylor wrote six of the album’s songs together.

According to the publicity for the new film, "The writing and recording experience was completely new to Jessie who found the experience so rewarding that she has since performed the songs live and will be playing shows with full band following the release of the film. The Original Soundtrack will be released on Island Records on April 12, the same day the film hits the screens in the UK and Ireland.

"Starring alongside Julie Walters and Sophie Okonedo, the Irish born Buckley plays Rose-Lynn Harlan, a single mother of two, fresh out of prison, bursting with raw talent, charisma and cheek. Her dream is to leave Glasgow for Nashville to make it as a country star.
