Love/Hate's Charlie Murphy lands starring role in Halo TV series
In addition to Charlie Murphy, the videogame adaptation also stars another Irish actress.
American network Showtime are producing a live-action TV adaptation of the popular video game Halo starring Irish actress Charlie Murphy in a major role!
The Love/Hate star confirmed the news on Instagram. Accompanied by a picture of the cast, she wrote, "So so excited to be a part of this!"
Murphy will portray Makee, a character that seems to be created specifically for the series and doesn't exist in the videogame. She is an orphan who was raised by the alien Covenant that harbours a hatred of humans.
In addition to Love/Hate, Charlie Murphy also starred in other TV shows like Peaky Blinders and Happy Valley as well as in the comedy Dark Lies The Island.
Halo will consist of 10 episodes and stars another Irish talent, Catastrophe's Kate Kennedy, who will play Kai-125, a Spartan soldier. The cast also includes Danny Sapani (Black Panther), Olive Gray (Home From Home), Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is The New Black) and Natasha Culzac (The Witcher) amongst others.
Production on Halo just started in the beginning of November. An official release date has yet to be announced.
