The feature will be based off Emily Brontë's classic 1847 novel
Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi will lead an upcoming adaptation of Wuthering Heights, as reported by Deadline.
The Aussie pairing will be joining forces with filmmaker Emerald Fennell, director of the 2023 black comedy Saltburn and 2021’s Promising Young Woman, the latter of which picked up three Academy Awards.
Fennell teased the project on social media, posting an artwork to X that read: “Be With Me Always. Take Any Form. Drive Me Mad.”

Robbie has produced both of Fennell’s last two films, with Elordi starring alongside Dubliner Barry Keoghan in Saltburn.
Not many details on the adaptation of the timeless Emily Brontë novel have been revealed, though UK-based production is pipped to begin next year.
The book has been been adapted to the silver screen on multiple occasions over the years, such as William Wyler’s version in 1939 and Andrea Arnold’s 2011 feature.
The Victorian-era work also also served as the inspiration for Kate Bush’s 1978 chart-topping debut single of the same name, with the singer writing the tune from the perspective of ghost character Catherine Earnshaw.
