'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' and 'Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness' are affected by Marvel's delays.
It seems that the woes plaguing the cinema world over the past two years are not quite over, as Marvel announces delays for its entire 2022 line-up.
After taking releasing zero new films last year - giving fans enough time to recover after the record-breaking Avenger's Endgame and the barrage of movies leading up to it - the comic-book company was starting to ramp things up again this year.
The release of Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings saw the beginning of what is being labelled as 'Phase Four' of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Two other releases are still planned for this year, Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Neither will be affected by the delays, and are slated for release in November and December respectively.
The Disney-owned company has stated that the delays are simply due to standard production and filmmaking issues, reassuring fans that no darker troubles are brewing. The shakeup is due in part to Marvel's tightly-packed release schedule, with three projects slated to release in 2022. In a domino-like effect, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has shifted its release date to May, taking up the slot allotted to Thor: Love and Thunder, which in turn took over the July release for the highly anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The company's 2023 releases have also been affected, with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels being pushed back as well. Two yet-to-be-announced films, heavily speculated to be the remakes of Blade and Fantastic Four, have been momentarily pencilled out of Marvel's busy release schedule.

It's not just Marvel that are facing hiccups in their timetable. The latest instalment of the Indiana Jones movie, another one of Disney's numerous properties, has also been pushed back by nearly a year.
This is not the first time the company has run into trouble this year, as Black Widow's lead actress Scarlett Johansson sued the corporation over the movie's mixed release. Instead of an extended cinema run before streaming, the film landed on Disney+ initially, which heavily reduced her salary payments (which were based on box office results).
