Mary J. Blige has released the official trailer for her upcoming documentary, Mary J. Blige's My Life.

The Amazon Prime Video film is set to be released later this month, which will revisit the most influential moments of the Grammy Award-winning star's career.

The film will discuss Blige's 1994 sophomore album My Life and the cultural impact it had on hip hop and R&B in the early '90s.

The album, which peaked at No. 7 on the US Billboard Top 100 charts featured classic hits from the singer; such as "You Bring Me Joy," "Be Happy," "I'm Goin' Down," and "Mary Jane (All Night Long)."

Speaking about the critically acclaimed album during the trailer, Blige said “My Life is probably my darkest album at one of the darkest times I’ve had.”

“Most of the time I was just depressed and didn’t want to live. I had it all inside and I was able to sing it and write it, and I didn’t know that so many people felt the same way.”

The album detailed some of the singer's most personal struggles at the time, detailing her depression, abuse and addiction struggles.

As well as an exclusive performance from the R&B icon, the film also features interviews with Diddy (Sean Combs) Alicia Keys and actress Taraji P. Henson.

Produced by Combs and Quincy Jones - and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Vannessa Roth - Blige "reveals the demons and blessings that inspired the record and propelled her from the soul-crushing world of New York's housing projects to international stardom," according to its press description.

Blige also performs her iconic 1994 My Life album in full live for the first time during the film in celebration of its 25th anniversary.
