The film, titled Michael will showcase the entirety of the late singer's life.
A new Michael Jackson biopic from Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King is in the works.
The film, titled Michael, is being made with the blessing of Jackson's estate and was written by three-time Oscar winner John Logan (The Aviator, Skyfall).
Co-executors of Jackson's estate John Branca and John McClain will produce the film along with King. Lionsgate will handle the world-wide distribution.
According to Deadline, the film isn't intended to be a "sanitised rendering of Jackson's life." Instead, King would like to give audiences an in-depth look at a "complicated man who became the king of pop."
"It will bring to life Jackson's most iconic performances as it gives an informed insight into the entertainer's artistic process and personal life."
The biopic is set to span the singer's entire life, beginning with his superstar projection as a child star and ending with his tragic death at age 50.

Due to the inclusion of his estate, accusations of sexual abuse – outlined in the recent Netflix documentary Leaving Neverland – may be omitted from the plot line.
The documentary is now involved in a $100 million lawsuit with the Jackson estate. The singer himself denied the allegations prior to his death in 2009.
Katherine Jackson, the late singer's mother, commented on the forthcoming film saying: "Ever since Michael was little, as a member of The Jackson 5, he loved the magic of cinema. As a family, we are honoured to have our life story come alive on the big screen.”
King's last venture into musical biopics, Bohemian Rhapsody, received global praise. Most notably, nabbing four Oscars in 2019.
