They follow the success of American Horror Story and American Crime Story.
Ryan Murphy will create and produce two brand new spin-off series in the American Story franchise.
Murphy was behind the massively successful American Horror Story and American Crime Story, which are set to return to screens soon.
The new American Story shows, American Sports Story and American Love story, will focus on Aaron Hernandez and John F. Kennedy Jr’s relationship with Carolyn Bessette, respectively. The two new programmes will be available in a limited series format.
American Sports Story explores the life and death of former NFL footballer Aaron Hernandez. Hernandez was convicted of the murder of Odin Lloyd in 2015 and took his own life in 2017 while in prison. It will be based on the podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc.
American Love Story centres around JFK Jr and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s relationship before the pair were tragically killed in a plane crash in 1999. Release dates for both series have not yet been announced.

The 10th season of American Horror Story, titled Double Feature, will premiere on FX on August 25th. Long-term stars of the show Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will feature alongside Macaulay Culkin, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Lily Rabe, and Adina Porter.
American Crime Story will return on September 7th for its third season, Impeachment. The latest instalment focuses on the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky story. The first season followed the infamous murder trial of O.J Simpson and earned Sarah Paulson a Golden Globe for her performance as Marcia Clark, and the second season followed the murder of iconic fashion designer Gianni Versace.
The first trailer for Impeachment was released last Friday (August 13th) and features Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein as Lewinsky. The show will plot “the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country’s first impeachment proceedings in over a century,” according to a synopsis by FX.
