Netflix has released the working title of its upcoming series about the iconic dynasty
Netflix has announced that they are working on a new series entitled House Of Guinness (working title).
The series is set in the 19th-century and focuses on the story of one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties. The story will be based in Dublin as well as New York and will centre around the consequences of the death of Benjamin Guinness. After his death, the success of the business falls into the laps of his four adult children Arthur, Edward, Anne and Ben.
Anne Mensah, the Vice-President of Content at Netflix UK, said, “we are beyond thrilled to be working with Kudos and the incredible Steven Knight to bring the story of the Guinness Family to Netflix audiences. It has all the power of Peaky Blinders but the scale and the sweep of a true family saga. Set in the UK and the US, we cannot wait to see this realised.”
The series will be eight episodes long and written by Steven Knight. He writes how “the Guinness dynasty is known the world over – wealth, poverty, power, influence, and great tragedy are all intertwined to create a rich tapestry of material to draw from. I’ve always been fascinated by their stories and am excited to bring the characters to life for the world to see.”
The show's executive producers include Karen Wilson, Elinor Day and Martin Haines from the production company Kudos. The series producer will be Cahal Bannon and the producer is Howard Burch.
