The final season follows a major cliff-hanger at the end of Season 2.
Netflix have announced the release date for Squid Game Season 3 – out June 27.
This will also mark the series finale of the hit South Korean drama. Originally dropped in September of 2021, the most recent season was released last December. Now, viewers will just have to wait five months for the final season to arrive.
Directed and executive produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the new season follows a major unanswered cliff-hanger for audiences. Season 2 and 3 were filmed in succession to ensure a shorter wait time. The original season was not written as an ongoing series.

The acclaimed series received 46 awards, and won six Emmys in categories like Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode and Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Contemporary Program. Season 2 also became the second-most-matched non-English television series ever, amassing over 173 million views and 1.2 billion hours watched.
