Netflix has released the trailer and premiere date for a new murder mystery series filmed in Wicklow, Dublin and West Cork.
Netflix has unveiled the release date for their latest dark comedy, Bodkin, a seven-episode series premiering May 9 and starring Dubliner Siobhan Cullen, Cork actor Chris Walley and British actress Robyn Cara.
Set in the fictional town of Bodkin, the series was filmed across West Cork, Wicklow and Dublin. “The imaginary town of Bodkin is situated in West Cork, and it's a wild and fabulous landscape,” said co-showrunner and executive producer Alex Metcalf. “Union Hall really appealed to us as a location and so did its connection to the ocean. The fact that there's a working harbour there, and it's incredibly beautiful. The locals in Union Hall have been incredibly welcoming and helpful, and receptive to our work in the town.”

A comedic thriller filled with suspenseful twists and turns, Bodkin follows the adventures of a trio of podcasters as they investigate the disappearance of three strangers from a quaint Irish town. As the mystery begins to unravel, the journalists struggle to discern fact from fiction as they realise that their story may be much bigger and wilder than they could have imagined.
"I think for me," said Jez Scharf, creator, co-showrunner and executive producer of Bodkin, “one of the really exciting things is that we’ve gotten to utilise the talent in Ireland — and the level of that talent is unbelievable, across both cast and crew. What has personally been very exciting is getting to help showcase so much Irish talent, on screen and off."
With breathtaking landscapes and a talented local cast and crew, Bodkin is sure to be the next binge-worthy Irish hit.
