Netflix unveils first trailer for 'The Stranger'
The thrilling new series stars Irish actors Dervla Kirwan and Stephen Rea, among others.
What if a stranger revealed your darkest secrets? This is the question posed by The Stranger, a brand new Netflix series that will premiere globally on January 30th.
The series follows Adam (Richard Armitage, whose credits include The Hobbit), and his wife Corinne (played by Dublin native Dervla Kirwan). The couple lead a seemingly charmed existence, until one day, a stranger reveals to Adam that his wife has been lying to him. Based on the bestselling novel by series creator Harlan Coben, The Stranger weaves a gripping tale of mystery, murder, and intrigue.
Joining Armitage and Kirwan are Siobhan Finneran (Downton Abbey), Jennifer Saunders, (Absolutely Fabulous), and Irish actor Stephen Rea (Michael Collins). Indeed, The Stranger seems to be teeming with Irish talent – both the series' lead director Daniel O'Hara and second block director Hannah Quinn are also Irish.
