The first season closed with Dream (Tom Sturridge) and the rest of the characters on the move, led by Lucifer (Gwendolyn Christie). The new episodes are said to "dive into that conflict and continue to explore the many challenges facing the universe in the wake of Morpheus' century-long absence," according to Netflix.
"Nobody is going to be happier about this than the cast and crew: they are the biggest Sandman fans there are," said Gaiman. The series stars Sturridge, Christie, Boyd Holbrook, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Charles Dance, Jenna Coleman, Niamh Walsh and more.
With over 75 comic books in The Sandman series, the show could have a big future ahead of it.
