The first-ever authorised documentary on Led Zeppelin will be released in IMAX on February 5 and 6 and in cinemas on February 7.
A new poster and trailer have been released for Becoming Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin’s long awaited documentary, set for release in IMAX on February 5 and 6 and in cinemas on February 7.
Initially unveiled in 2019, the first ever authorised film was helmed by director Bernard MacMahon following the success of his 2017 exploration into United States roots music, American Epic.
Becoming Led Zeppelin will feature brand-new interviews with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Robert, as well as rare archival interviews with the late drummer John Bonham, who died in 1980.

According to the film’s official logline, Becoming Led Zeppelin “explores the origins of this iconic group and their meteoric rise in just one year against all the odds” and is “powered by awe-inspiring, psychedelic, never-before-seen footage, performances, and music.”

The project was initially taken to Cannes in 2019, at which point it was noted as being in the post-production phase.
“When I saw everything Bernard had done both visually and sonically on the remarkable achievement that is American Epic, I knew he would be qualified to tell our story,” Page said at the time.
