The popular anthology series will offer viewers and guests a rich and exciting new experience with the setting of Thailand, following the locations of Sicily and Hawaii.
Mike White’s dramedy anthology series The White Lotus will continue the show in Thailand, with each season being set in a different branch of The White Lotus hotels. The report from Variety reveals the exciting new location with support from various sources.
Season one took place on the beautiful shores of Hawaii and season two was set in the dynamic region of Sicily. The show follows a group of guests as they navigate the hotel along with their relationships and various drama.
The critically acclaimed show is written and directed by White and he hinted at the new location in a behind the scenes interview for season two of the show.
“The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex,” stated White during HBO’s Unpacking White Lotus. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”

Production for the third season has not started yet, but according to Variety’s sources, White has been eyeing locations in Thailand for the series. The previous two seasons were filmed at Four Seasons hotels in Sicily and Hawaii so the third season could be filmed at another hotel of the branch.
If White continues to film at Four Seasons hotels, he has four properties to choose from in Thailand with Koh Samui, Bangkok, the Golden Triangle and Chiang Mai. With the wide variety of locations, the show could take place in the different environments of Thailand with the beach, jungle, or cities of Thailand.
Season three is expected to include a fresh new ensemble of actors for the critically acclaimed show’s next instalment. The White Lotus earned 10 wins at last year’s Emmys. On top of winning Best Limited or Anthology Series, Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlet received an Emmy for their roles and White took home an Emmy for writing and directing. Season two also received positive reviews.
