Searchlight Pictures have dropped a new trailer for Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott-starring film All of Us Strangers, following the film's success at this year's BIFAs last Sunday, 3rd of December.
Ahead of its January 26th Irish release date, Searchlight pictures have released a new trailer for All of Us Strangers, starring Irish actors Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal.
After a chance encounter with a mysterious neighbour Harry (Paul Mescal) in his London flat, screenwriter Adam (Andrew Scott) sets in motion a cascading series of inexplicable events, that rupture the very fabric of his day-to-day life. As the pair form a tender romantic relationship, Adam is inextricably drawn to his past by vivid memories, travelling back to his family home, where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) appear alive and well — just as they were on the day of their deaths, 30 years prior.
Written and directed by British filmmaker Andrew Haigh, the film is based upon Taichi Yamada's 1987 novel, Strangers. Notching up the dreamlike atmospherics, the new trailer sees Scott and Mescal embracing in a hazy, kaleidoscopic visual collage of heartbreaking proportions, giving way to snippets of Adam's parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) eerily wandering their family home. Drenched in hazy, colourful imagery and neon lighting, its a deeply atmospheric glimpse of things to come — when the film hits Irish theatres at the start of the new year.

A poignant study of love, grief, and blossoming queer romance, All of Us Strangers is set to be a modern, metaphysical ghost story for the ages, already tipped for awards success at the Academy Awards later this year. Having premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival in August, the film won big at the BIFA Awards, with 14 nominations and 7 wins, taking home Best Film, as well as receiving 3 Film Independent Spirit Award nominations. All of us Strangers has also garnered much attention within the film festival circuit, following its Irish premiere at the Cork International Film Festival, with further nominations from various festivals across the globe, including the Gotham Independent Film Awards and the Chicago International Film Festival.
