Their soundtrack for the Andrew Dominik-directed 'Blonde' will land next year.
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis's latest collaboration will be the soundtrack to Netflix's new movie about the life of Marilyn Monroe.
The '60s icon will have her career be depicted in Blonde, directed and written by Andrew Dominik, the man behind The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Killing Them Softly. Ana De Armas will take on the titular role of Marilyn.
Dominik has previously worked with Cave and Ellis on Jesse James and the musical duo will take up the musical reigns again for his new picture, according to The Guardian.
"Warren is a character," says Dominik in the piece. "Just conversationally, the way he can go off on these incredible verbal flights is quite something. Creatively, he’s incredibly open, but I have to say, he’s also enigmatic, even a bit secretive."
The soundtrack will be the follow-up to the pair's 2021 album Carnage, the first full album made together that wasn't produced for a film.

Hot Press' Pat Carty hailed the album as "a phenomenal piece of art" in his review, writing that "are few if any who could hope to match the manner in which he continues to mould the universal from the deeply personal."
