The follow-up to the classic 1996 golf comedy is heading to Netflix on July 25.
The first official trailer for Happy Gilmore 2, the long awaited sequel to the classic 1996 golf comedy, has been released. The film is set to hit Netflix on July 25.
Adam Sandler, who starred in and co-wrote the original film, will come back in the titular role of a hockey player with anger management issues, who discovers he has a talent for golf.
The film followed Happy as he entered a golfing tournament to save his grandmother's home and faced off against Shooter McGavin, played by Christopher McDonald.
Both actors, as well as Julie Bowen and Ben Stiller are set to return for the sequel – plus newcomers such as Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce and Sandler’s daughters Sadie and Sunny.
Professional golfers John Daly, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and more also feature in the movie.

The original Happy Gilmore received mixed reviews at the time, but was solid at the box office, grossing $38 million worldwide on a budget of $12 million.
Sandler had teased the movie last year on The Tonight Show, saying: “It’s good. We worked hard on the script. We didn’t want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We wrote our asses off. So many of the golfers are being nice and will be a part of it.”
