The official trailer depicts the Roy family as ferocious as ever.
HBO Max has released the official trailer for hit show Succession's fourth and final season, premiering March 26th.
The show, which has been on air since June 2018, follows members of the dysfunctional Roy family as they vie for control over their media empire namesake – Waystar RoyCo.
Show runner Jesse Armstrong told the New Yorker that he and his writers had been planning the show's end since late 2021, despite HBO allowing for further seasons. "There’s a promise in the title of Succession," he told interviewer Rebecca Meade. "I’ve never thought this could go on forever."

Having garnered 48 Emmy-nominations and 13 wins, the shows final instalment is highly anticipated, with fans eager to see what its complex ensemble of characters do next.
Season three concludes after siblings Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman (Kieran Culkin) fail to conduct a coup against their father Logan Roy (Brian Cox) after the patriarch sold part of the company to Swedish tech mogul Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård).
Season four appears to pick up in the ensuing power struggle, depicting Logan working with fan favourite duo Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) and cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) to expand his power.
According to the drama's official logline, the perspective sale to Mattson provokes "existential angst" within the siblings "as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is complete." The paragraph continues, "the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”
The trailer hints that the siblings will respond by partnering with Waystar RoyCo's previous rivals the Pierce family, Stewy Hosseini (Arian Moayed) and Sandi Furness (Hope Davis).
"Death wrestling ogre's," Kendall says, apparently discussing the three. "Are you ready to get into this knife fight?" asks Shiv.
The trailer also gave audiences glimpses of smaller plot lines, depicting Shiv and Tom's crumbling marriage and Conner's presidential campaign.
