Gilla Band, Biig Piig, Selló, Just Mustard and SOAK are some of the other acts set to feature on the new series of the iconic show.
The brand new series of Other Voices is set to air this Spring – with the acclaimed music TV show returning for its 21st season on February 16. Set to be broadcast every Thursday at 11pm on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player, the new series of Other Voices will feature a thrilling selection of Irish and international acts, including recent Hot Press interviewees Paolo Nutini, Loyle Carner, Biig Piig, Just Mustard, Gilla Band, Selló, SOAK and our upcoming February cover stars Inhaler.
Featuring performances and conversations captured in Dingle, Cork and West Wales, the series will kick off with performances from Paolo Nutini, Sorcha Richardson, John Francis Flynn, and Selló in Episode One.
Later in the series, Other Voices will share highlights from last year’s Other Voices Cardigan, with music from Gwenno, Stella Donnelly, Poppy Ajudha and more. There'll also be performances from Biig Piig, Cian Ducrot, SOAK, and Susan O’Neill – all captured during Other Voices Bringing It All Back Home Cork, in University College Cork.
“Celebrating what’s about to happen has always been at the heart of what Other Voices is about," says Other Voices founder Philip King. "In this, our twenty-first year, we host and celebrate a remarkable diversity of brilliant new Irish music from every part of the Island. Artists in Ireland right now are producing, making, minting and recording some of the best music ever made here. It’s a delight to host some of these artists in the beautiful town of Dingle, West Kerry, right at the edge of Europe.
"We will also be joined by Paolo Nutini, Loyle Carner and The Big Moon who have made the pilgrimage to Dingle," he continues. "We will have surprises from Wales with Poppy Ajudha, Gwenno, Stella Donnelly, Catrin Finch & Aoife Ní Bhriain. Also featured in this series will be brilliant performances from SOAK, Cian Ducrot, Susan O’Neill, Biig Piig and more from the beautiful environs of the Aula Maxima in University College Cork. The music captured is uplifting and inspirational and it’s just great to share this music with everybody on RTÉ2 television and with the world on the RTÉ Player.”
