Pamela Anderson is set to star alongside Liam Neeson in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot
Pamela Anderson is set to star alongside Liam Neeson in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming reboot of The Naked Gun, based on the crime spoof comedies released in the 1980s and 1990s.
The remake, scheduled for a release on July 18, 2025, will be directed by Akiva Schaffer, known for his work on Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers. Neeson will lead the cast as Frank Drebin, the inept yet resourceful police detective originally portrayed by Leslie Nielsen.
The original Naked Gun franchise, born out of the TV series Police Squad!, was created by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker. It gained success during the early 1990s, grossing over $216 million at the box office. The films were celebrated for their outrageous parody and on-screen sight gags.
Anderson will play a character similar to Priscilla Presley's in the original trilogy, serving as Drebin's love interest. Anderson has a background in both comedy and satire, having appeared in movies like Scary Movie 3 and Superhero Movie.

Speaking about his involvement in the project, Neeson expressed some apprehension about venturing into comedy, stating, “A little Stephen Colbert sketch or Ricky Gervais, I’m okay because it’s short. But a whole film, we’ll see. We’ll see.”
The script for the remake, written by Dan Gregor, Doug Mand, and Schaffer, promises to deliver "some very funny laugh out loud moments," according to Neeson.
Anderson is known for her iconic role on Baywatch, and her recent portrayal in the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy. Her return to film comes after a successful Broadway debut and the release of the Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story.
