Normal People costars Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones took to Instagram yesterday to hint at a series reunion as they teased “We’ve got some news to share.”
The pair appeared as lovers Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan in the 2020 Hulu adaptation of Sally Rooney’s best selling novel of the same name. A romantic drama about the on-and-off relationship between two Irish teens, the book sees Connell and Marianne weave in and out of each other's lives as they journey through high school and into adulthood.
Earlier this week, Edgar-Jones shared a selfie of the reunited duo on her Instagram story, captioning the photo, “We’ve got some news to share!! Watch this space.” The image was later reposted by Element Pictures, the production studio behind Normal People.

An international smash-hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hulu original series was a turning point in Mescal and Edgar-Jones’ career, launching the budding actors towards global stardom.
In recent years, Mescal has been seen starring opposite Andrew Scott in the romantic drama All Of Us Strangers and received an Oscar nomination for his performance in 2022’s Aftersun.
Edgar-Jones starred in the 2022 screen adaptation of Delie Owen’s hit novel Where the Crawdads Sing and is currently gearing up for the release of her recent summer blockbuster Twisters.
