The auction was organised to coincide with last night’s (April 8) 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards.
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards are auctioning off Phoebe Bridgers' smashed guitar from her February SNL performance of 'I Know The End'.
Bridgers had pummelled her Danelectro guitar against a fake guitar monitor during her set, where she played the closing track from her 2020 album Punisher. She did so with the blessing of the instrument brand, who informed Bridgers that the product is “hard to break”.
Bridgers received a strange amount of criticism for the move, with many claiming that such comments wouldn't have been delivered if a male artist had pulled the same stunt.
Veteran rocker David Crosby weighed in to share his displeasure, with Bridgers brushing off his comments, tagging Crosby's statement on Twitter and writing 'little b***h' underneath.
Described as “the ultimate concert keepsake” and a means to “turn your home into a personal Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” Bridgers' smashed guitar has attracted a bid of $5,500. Bids can be made in $500 increments ahead of the auction’s close on April 11th.

The guitar appears to be relatively intact apart from a large chunk missing from its body on the left side.
