The 'Bridgerton' actor will star in and executive produce Amazon's 'Exciting Times' adaptation.
Phoebe Dynevor, who rose to fame last year for her role as Daphne in the Netflix historical drama Bridgerton, is the first big name to be announced in association with the Amazon adaptation of Naoise Dolan's debut novel Exciting Times.
Published last year, Dolan's novel joined the wave of new young Irish writers alongside the likes of Sally Rooney (author of Normal People), Ruth Gilligan (The Butchers) and Emma Dabiri (Don't Touch My Hair).
Exciting Times follows a directionless 22-year-old named Ava who finds herself caught between two love interests; a 28-year-old banker named Julian and an upper-class lawyer named Edith in Hong Kong.
Dolan's keen observational writing and deadpan approach on controversial talking points saw the novel succeed both critically and commercially.
The novel's adaptation is helmed by Black Bear Pictures (The Imitation Game), which optioned the rights to the book prior to its release in the US in June 2020.

Dolan is set to write the series and executive produce alongside director Cooper Raiff, actress and now-producer Phoebe Dynevor and Black Bear Pictures founder and CEO, Teddy Schwarzman.
