Her unnamed male co-star tried to "ruin her career".
Rebel Wilson has opened up about how she was sexually harassed by a male co-star several years ago.
The 42-year-old Pitch Perfect actress said that the incident occured previous to the #MeToo campaign when similar stories were shared on social media.
She told People magazine that he called her into a room and "pulled down his pants” before asking her to perform a sexual act in front of his friends.
“It was awful and disgusting, said Wilson. “And all the behavior afterward — this was all before #MeToo — where they kind of tried to destroy me and my career. If it had happened after #MeToo, then I could have just blasted them.”
"Why did I stay in that situation … with that awful guy?" she said. "I should have left. It wasn't worth it. But at the same time, I was like, 'Oh well, do the right thing, be a professional and finish the movie.' Now I would never do that.
With a law degree from the University of New South Wales, Wilson knew it was vital that she documented proceedings as they happened.

"I called my rep. I got certain things in writing about what happened. Definitely among industry circles, I made sure people knew what happened," she explained.
Wilson noted the importance of #MeToo in ensuring women know that they have the right to speak up, guilt-free.
"I thought even complaining to my agency was a big step. I found out I was like the fourth person to complain about the guy. If it happened again, I would probably stand up for myself even more just because of the bravery of the other women that have stood up and now allowed me an opportunity," she said.
