"Renée Zellweger is Judy Garland", the main trailer for the biopic Judy states and it certainly is true. The actress known for romantic comedies like Bridget Jones and Jerry Maguire is entirely unrecognisable, completely disappearing in the role of the legendary entertainer.

The movie takes place in 1968, 30 years after Judy Garland starred as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz. It's a time in the icon actress' life when she struggles with stardom and the negative aspects that come with it. One of them being separated from her children while she embarks on a sold-out show series in London's famous The Talk of the Town.

During that time Judy Garland also begins a relationship with musician Mickey Deans, who was her fifth and last husband and is portrayed by American Horror Story star Finn Wittrock. Other actors include Rufus Sewell as Garland's ex-husband Sidney Luft as well as Michael Gambon in the role of theatrical impresario Bernard Delfont.

Judy will hit Irish theatres on the 4th of October.
