Eimear Noone became the first woman to conduct at the Academy Awards in 2020.
Galway conductor and composer Eimear Noone will address Network Ireland's Businesswoman of The Year Awards, streamed live to a virtual audience on October 8.
Noone, who gained further fame for becoming the first woman to conduct excerpts from nominated films during an Academy Awards ceremony in 2020, will be one of the highlights of the evening streamed from the Theatre Royal in Waterford,
"I've been amazed at the level of determination and dynamic energy within this great organisation," says Noone.
"Considering everything they’ve been through in the last couple of years, you really get a sense that they’re supporting and helping one another focus on moving forward and reaching their goals. I can’t wait to see you all in a few weeks’ time."

The President of Network Ireland, Aisling O’Neill, spoke of their joy having Noone at the awards cremony noting that "from making history as a world-class female conductor and composer to encouraging and inspiring other young people in the industry, she has so much wonderful experience and insight to share with us. The event is going to be a real highlight of our year”.
Keeping with the musical theme, the all-female vocal group Alchemy Vox will perform on the night which will also include panel discussions on diversity & inclusion, technology, entrepreneurship in food, investment and sport.
Tickets are available now from networkireland, with all proceeds going to their 2021 charity partner Focus Ireland.
