“I think its great, I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons,” said Ringo of the rumoured casting.
Ringo Starr has revealed that Barry Keoghan is taking drum lessons, in preparation to play him in a highly anticipated Beatles movies. Director Sam Mendes is set to make four separate movies covering the lives of each Beatles star in full.
The rumoured casting features two Irish actors, Barry Keoghan and Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney. Harris Dickinson and Charlie Rowe are rumoured to play John Lennon and George Harrison respectively.
Starr was asked in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight what he made of the rumoured casting, Starr supported the casting saying, “I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many.”

Barry Keoghan's rise continues whether he has the role or not. The Oscar nominated actor has been in a string of successful films recently including Andrea Arnold’s Bird and Emerald Fennell's Saltburn, as well as leading in highly anticipated Irish thriller Bring Them Down set to be released in February.
