The Irish actress made her fifth appearance on The Ellen Show.
Saoirse Ronan is one of our most successful exports in Hollywood. The three-time Oscar nominee even got to work with Meryl Streep on her latest movie, Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Little Women. But we didn't quite lose her to the States yet, as she revealed in an interview on The Ellen Show that she lives between Ireland and the UK.
"I go back and forth", the Irish actress explains. "I'm mainly in London when I'm in the UK."
The 25-year-old also announced that she finally got her driving license. "So I had a provisional license for a few years. [...] Eventually, I did it this year around my birthday and I got it!"
As Halloween was only two days away at the time of the interview, Ellen couldn't resist surprising the actress with one of her famous jump scares. This time, it almost failed though as Saoirse conveniently placed her cup on the table where one of the crew members normally jumps out of. Nevertheless, it all worked out in the end and Ronan was actually scared twice.

In addition, the two talked about Ronan's latest movie, Little Women, and its star-studded cast which also includes non other than Meryl Streep. It was her first time working with the accomplished actress, who got her pretty starstruck.
"I had met her at things and I was always just like, 'It's Meryl!' and I could never be cool around her", she recalls. "But then, I kind of kept my cool because I had to because we needed to make sure the scene was right. And then, when they called cut on the last set-up, [...] suddenly I was like, 'Oh my god, I've got to work with Meryl Streep'".
But turns out, the Queen of Hollywood is just like all of us: "[Florence Pugh and Timothée Chalamet] texted me at the end of one of their shoot days and they were like, 'Dude, Meryl ordered Wendy's today'. Meryl was hungry and was like, 'I'd love some fries' or something and 20 seconds later somebody was like, 'Do you want some fries? I've got some fries!'".
Little Women is set to hit Irish cinemas on December 27. Besides Ronan and Streep, the movie also stars Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern and Timothée Chalamet.
