Concert For Ukraine will raise funds through viewers' donations – with the money going directly to the Disasters Emergency Committee's (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. DEC charities are un Ukraine and neighbouring countries, assisting refugees and displaced people.
ITV, who are airing the concert in the UK, are donating all the advertising revenue from the broadcast – an estimated £3 million – to the DEC appeal.
Concertgoers in Birmingham have paid up to £52 for tickets, with all tax raised from the sales – around £100,000 – donated to the DEC appeal.
Virgin Media Television, meanwhile, have selected the Irish Emergency Alliance and Irish Red Cross as Irish charity partners for tonight's broadcast.
