The comedy duo announced the end of the show before they embark on a world tour next month
Tipperary radio duo, The 2 Johnnies, are ending their RTÉ 2FM show Drive It at the end of the month.
Johnny Smacks and Johnny B started the radio show over two years ago in February 2022, and have decided to end their popular show as they're ready for a break to focus on their other projects.
Johnny Smacks said that they “had unreal craic over the last two and a half years working on 2FM”.
“We came in with the idea to have a laugh on the afternoons and cheer people up and get more mad scones on the radio from every county in Ireland telling stories and auld yarns. After two and a half years, my jaws need a rest from all the laughing."
Johnny B thanked the producers and described their listeners as “the funniest, maddest, soundest crowd alive”.

“The stories they’ve come on air to tell have been outrageous,” he said. “It’s made me proud to be Irish to talk with the nation every evening.”
The comedy duo host one of the most popular podcasts in Ireland, The 2 Johnnies Podcast, which they say will continue releasing episodes weekly on Monday.
The radio show is coming to a conclusion right before the duo are set to embark on a world tour in June, bringing their comedy to the United States, Canada and Australia.
In an Instagram post, The 2 Johnnies expressed their love for the show and their sadness at leaving it behind.

“Johnny B and Johnny Smacks have brought their original South Tipp humour and interesting music choices to 2FM audiences right across Ireland. They’ve been a great part of the 2FM family here and we’ll be sad to see them go but wish them well as they continue their adventures,” He added.
The 2 Johnnies have live shows scheduled in Ireland for June 8 in Dublin, August 17 in Galway Airport, and September 1 in Limerick.
The pair will also be releasing an album next Friday, Small Town Heroes, which will feature 14 songs about “growing up in a small town”.
