Trailer released for new Bob Marley biopic
Bob Marley: One Love is set to be released in Irish cinemas on January 12.
Paramount Studios have released the first trailer for Bob Marley: One Love, a biopic set to showcase the life of the late reggae legend.
The trailer offers glimpses of different stages of Marley’s life, from his humble beginnings in Jamaica to onstage performances and his rise to become a global icon.
We are also shown more intimate aspects of the singer’s family as well as Marley’s assassination attempt (which he survived).
The preview ends with an iconic Bob Marley quote, “One love, one heart, one destiny.”
Kingley Ben-Adir will star as Bob Marley alongside Lashana Lynch, who plays the singer’s wife Rita Marley.
Reinaldo Marcus Green, who directed the Oscar winning King Richard, will take charge of the biopic.
Marley’s son Ziggy Marley features on the project as a producer. Speaking at CinemaCon earlier this year, the fellow reggae artist said the movie will help fans "deepen their connection to Bob and honour Bob in the right way.”
Bob Marley: One Love is set to be released in Irish cinemas on 12 January 2023.
