An Irish co-production, the upcoming film stars Sebastian Stan as the former US president.
The first trailer for the upcoming Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice, which stars Sebastian Stan as the former US president, has been released.
The film is directed by Ali Abbasi, the film is an Irish-Canadian-Danish co-production, with the producers including Ruth Treacy and Julianne Forde for the Dublin-based company Tailored Films.
According to the official logline, it is “a dive into the underbelly of the American empire,” and follows Trump’s rise to fame and his time learning from influential right-wing lawyer Roy Cohn, played by Jeremy Strong.

It also features Maria Bakalova as Ivana Trump and Martin Donovan as Fred Trump, and is set for release in October following a premiere in May at Cannes Film Festival.
The trailer comes out the same day as the highly anticipated debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, which will take place live on ABC News from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 2am on Wednesday.
Abbasi's most recent feature, the crime thriller Holy Spider, followed a journalist investigating the serial killings of sex workers in the Iranian holy city of Mashhad.
