The Dublin International Film Festival will welcome a host of international and Irish talent this year, as the 12 day programme takes place in various locations across Dublin. On Friday, Virgin Media announced the full programme, which will include talks, classes, and of course film screenings from some of world's greatest filmmakers.
Notably, the Virgin Media Opening Night Gala will include the Irish premiere of Lorcan Finnegan's Vivarium, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots. The sci-fi thriller revolves around a young couple looking for their starter home and navigating parenting. The festival will welcome Poots, who will be in attendance on the evening.
Tom Vaughn-Lawlor stars in the Mark O'Halloran-adapted Rialto, as a man struggling with the death of his destructive father. Putting his family life at great risk, he seeks solace in a young male prostitute. O'Halloran adapted the script from his own stage play, Trade, and the film is directed by Peter Mackie Burns.
2020 BAFTA Rising Star nominee Niamh Algar stars alongside Barry Keoghan in Calm With Horses. The film will be the feature debut for Nick Rowland, and both Keoghan and Algar will walk the red carpet for the Gala Premiere.
