A first look at the new live action Lion King, coming to cinemas in July 2019.
The Lion King hit the big screen in 1994 and later debuted on Broadway in 1997. Following its enduring success Walt Disney Studios are releasing a live action adaption of the much loved film on 19 July 2019.
Walt Disney shared a teaser on Twitter of the live action and it looks incredible.

Lights, Camera, Pod posted a side-by-side comparing the original film with the new live action. It shows that Disney will not waver too far from the original '90s film, and will stay true to its roots.
However, this new live action release has much more detail than the original. Director Jon Favreau (also directed the live action Jungle Book) presents the most stunning, life-like imagery.

Pulling out all the stops, the live action cast is full of big names. Beyoncé will play Nala (Simba's friend/love interest), Seth Rogen will take on the hilarious role of Pumbaa and Donald Glover will voice Simba.
Lion King fanatics are eager to hear the new cast's take on the Elton John soundtrack. With Beyoncé's vocals it's sure to be an amazing performance.
