A24 have unveiled the first trailer for Sofia Coppola's eagerly anticipated Priscilla Presley biopic. Taking to Instagram, the Academy Award-winning writer/director teased that the film will be released later this year: "This October, we're going to Graceland..."
Starring Cailee Spaeny – known for her work in Mare Of Easttown – in the titular role, Priscilla is based on Presley's memoir, Elvis & Me, written with Sandra Harmon. Elvis is played in the film by Euphoria star Jacob Elordi. Dagmara Domińczyk will also feature.
"When teenage Priscilla Beaulieu meets Elvis Presley at a party, the man who is already a meteoric rock-and-roll superstar becomes someone entirely unexpected in private moments: a thrilling crush, an ally in loneliness, a gentle best friend," A24's official description reads. "Through Priscilla’s eyes, Sofia Coppola tells the unseen side of a great American myth in Elvis and Priscilla's long courtship and turbulent marriage, from a German army base to his dream-world estate at Graceland, in this deeply felt and ravishingly detailed portrait of love, fantasy, and fame."
Priscilla follows 2022's Elvis biopic, directed by Baz Luhrmann – which scored eight Oscar nominations.
