Johnson is no stranger to the world of mystery thrillers. The 49-year-old director has been a prevalent name in the film industry recently with the release of his worldwide critically acclaimed picture Knives Out. Johnson is often credited by media and people alike for the resurgence of 'whodunit' films. He continues to dazzle the audience with the genre with his latest release Glass Onion.
Emmy and Golden Globe nominee, Natasha Lyonne, portrays the character Charlie Cale - a cool, easygoing casino hostess who possesses preternatural ability to detect liars.
The show will follow a “case-of-the-week” murder mystery accompanying Lyonne's character as she is forced to go on the run. On the road in her yellow ‘69 Plymouth Barracuda, Cale is on a road trip around the US, solving strange new cases along the way.
Lyonne executive produces Poker Face via her Animal Pictures production company, which also produces Netflix’s Russian Doll and Apple TV+’s Loot. Johnson will write and direct several episodes of the series, and executive produces via his T-Street production banner.
The 10-episode series will begin with airing four episodes on January 26. The remaining episodes will air weekly every Thursday on Peacock.
