The fourth solo film from everyone's favorite god of thunder will hit theatres July 8th.
Today, Marvel fans are able to celebrate their Easter Monday with the first official look at the highly anticipated superhero adventure Thor: Love and Thunder. The new trailer takes us on a journey from earth, to distant planets, to the home of the gods on Mount Olympus- all set to the iconic guitar strains of Guns N' Roses 'Sweet Child O' Mine'.
When we last left the hammer wielding hero, once again played by Chris Hemsworth, he had joined The Guardians of The Galaxy for a trip into outer space. In this trailer, we get a glimpse of Thor’s new path towards self discovery- “I need to figure out exactly who I am. I want to choose my own path, live in the moment. My superheroing days are over,” we hear him say.
This film marks the return of New Zealand born director Taika Waititi who directed the 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok. Also returning is Chris Pratt as Starlord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, and Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. We also get our first glimpse of Natalie Portman reprising her role as Jane Foster, but this time she appears as a female version of Thor.
Notably absent from the trailer is Christian Bale who plays the film's villain- Gorr the God Butcher.
Prior to this new Thor adventure, fans will take a nightmarish journey through alternate realities in Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, In theatres May 6th.
